In the United States, this group of healthcare professionals numbers approximately 234,000 with an additional 23,000 nurse practitioner students graduating each year.
Nurse practitioners integrate health promotion, disease prevention, counseling and patient education. Claxton-Hepburn has 13 nurse practitioners on staff.
