POTSDAM -- Philip K. Hopke, Clarkson University’s Bayard D. Clarkson Distinguished Professor received the Chemometrics in Analytical Chemistry Chemometrics Lifetime Achievement Award.
Hopke received the award at the recent 14th Conference on Chemometrics in Analytical Chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va.
Hopke is also director of Clarkson’s Institute for a Sustainable Environment and director of Clarkson’s Center for Air Resources Engineering and Science.
The award honors recipients for their important accomplishment in chemometrics. Chemometrics is the application of mathematical or statistical methods to chemical data to obtain the maximum information or the best results. It includes improved calibration methods, classification tools, and visualization methods, according to Clarkson.
