Dr. Sulapha Peethamparan received tenure from Clarkson University and is now an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at the Wallace H. Coulter School of Engineering.
She first joined the faculty in 2008 after getting her Ph.D. from Purdue University. She was a post-doctoral scholar at Princeton University.
Peethamparan is an expert in the development, characterization, performance evaluation, and modeling of cement-based materials, focusing on development of sustainable infrastructural materials. Her group is currently researching the development of environment-friendly concretes, the use of several industrial waste/by-product materials in high-performance concretes and the use of bio material for developing a new type of cement.
Peethamparan has published more than 15 papers in refereed journal publications and over 40 papers in conference and symposia proceedings. She is an active member of the American Concrete Institute, Transportation Research Board, Center for Advanced Cement Based Materials, American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and American Society for Testing and Materials.
