Dana M. Barry of Canton, senior technical writer and editor at Clarkson University's Center for Advanced Materials Processing, served as a visiting professor and keynote speaker in China in September.

She delivered the keynote address at the International Collaboration Celebration in Xiamen, China, where she summarized her published work in a talk titled Highlights: Promoting Science, Engineering, and Creative Education at the International Level.

About 1,500 attendees, including news media representatives from various countries, foreign academicians and scientists, and ambassadors of non-governmental organizations to the United Nations from the United States, Canada, Germany, Slovenia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and parts of China, attended the event.

Barry's keynote address was followed by Ansted University's convocation and the Ansted Social Responsibility International Award and Corporate Social Responsibility Certification Ambassadorship Program. Barry serves as a professor and scientific board president for Ansted University, which is led by Professor Roger Haw.

At the same event, the World Thinkers' Panel on the Sustainable Future of Humankind, which promotes world peace through social responsibility, declared its mission for the first time. Barry is one of the founding members of the panel.

During her stay in China, Barry also presented a paper, titled Protect our Air Which Is Essential for Human Life, at the First International Conference for Protect the Earth and Ocean at the Xiamen Ocean Vocational College.

Barry said that she expressed her sincere and greatest thanks to Haw, Ambassador Dato Ang and the organizing committees for their work, which resulted in the successful China events.

Barry has many professional publications, honors, and awards to her name.

She recently won her 16th consecutive APEX Award for Publication Excellence and has been selected for inclusion in the 2012 edition of Marquis Who's Who in the World.

She has permanent teacher certification in science and chemistry and five graduate degrees, one of which is a Ph.D. in engineering from Osaka University in Japan.

In addition, she is an officer of the northern New York section of the American Chemical Society and has served as a visiting professor in Malaysia, Japan, and England.
