POTSDAM -- Luciana Echazú, an associate professor of economics and financial studies in Clarkson University's School of Business, was awarded the Distinguished Teaching Award during the University's 124th commencement ceremony.
The $1,500 prize is given "in recognition of the importance of superior teaching." Candidates are nominated for the award by Clarkson alumni and the final selection is made by a faculty committee.
Echazú has been at Clarkson University since 2007.
Her main research interests are in law and economics, with a specific focus on corruption and criminal behavior.
