Stacey Zeigler of Clarkson University has been appointed to a national task force commissioned by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Zeigler is serving this year on the Task Force to Define Physical Therapists’ role in prevention, wellness, fitness, and disease management..

She is one of eight members of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) appointed to this task force. The committee will present a series of recommendations to the APTA by December that will help to shape public policy for physical therapists in future years.

This work will assist the APTA board in setting direction and priorities for physical therapists in the areas of prevention and wellness particularly timely during this era of national health care reform. The task force’s primary focus is to recommend strategies to help promote and support the role of physical therapists in prevention, wellness, and disease management roles.

Zeigler has been a faculty member at Clarkson since 2003 and a licensed physical therapist since 1994.

She earned her doctorate in physical therapy in 2005 from Simmons College and has 19 years of clinical experience in a wide variety of settings, mostly in formal healthcare leadership roles and in geriatric care.
