Clarkson University photographer Ting-Li Wang recently won a Libris Iconic Images Award for her photo of a women's basketball team victory.

Libris by Photoshelter selected 16 iconic images that defined 2016, according to a press release from Clarkson.

The photo was taken during the 2015-2016 Clarkson women's basketball season and shows a crowd celebrating a winning game.

The team had its best season in more than 25 years and went on to win the Liberty League title, the release said.

"Ting-Li has a remarkable ability to capture emotion-packed moments that show off the best of Clarkson," said Tim Jones, associate vice president of marketing at Clarkson. "It's wonderful to see her photo recognized as one of the iconic images of 2016 -- a well-deserved honor that shows off some of the great work she does every day for the university."

Wang joined the Clarkson external relations staff in 2013. She previously served as capitol photographer at the Wisconsin state legislature and staff photographer at the New York Times, among other positions.
