Clarkson faculty, staff inducted into school's Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar clubs

Several Clarkson University faculty and staff members were recently inducted into the school's Million Dollar and Multi-Million Dollar clubs for the significant amounts of external funding that their investigations and research activities have garnered.

Aeronautical Engineering Prof. Brian Helenbrook, Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering Prof. Kathleen Issen, Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering Prof. Piergiovanni Marzocca, Mechanical & Aeronautical Engineering Prof. Daniel Valentine, Chemistry & Biomolecular Science Prof. Evgeny Katz, and Civil & Environmental Engineering Prof. Yongming Liu for their induction into the Million Dollar Club, and Shipley Center for Innovation Fellow and Civil & Environmental Engineering Prof. James Bonner for his induction into the Multi-Million Dollar Club.

The Million Dollar Club recognizes researchers whose investigations and research activities have been supported with $1 million or more in externally sponsored research funding. The Multi-Million Dollar Club honors faculty with more than $5 million in externally sponsored research funding.

Areas of prominent research focus at Clarkson include advanced materials, biotechnology, entrepreneurship, the environment and energy, and global supply chain management.

During the fiscal year 2010-2011, Clarkson researchers brought in $17.8 million in external funding.
