Clarkson appoints clinical assistant professor of physician assistant studies

POTSDAM -- Tonya J. Seymour was recently appointed clinical assistant professor of physician assistant studies at Clarkson University.

She received her associate of applied science degree in medical technology from SUNY Canton, her bachelor of arts in biology from SUNY Potsdam, and her master of science degree in physician assistant studies from Clarkson University

Seymour has nearly 20 years of health care experience as a medical technologist. She worked at Massena Memorial Hospital, Canton-Potsdam Hospital and Adirondack Medical Center as a phlebotomist, medical laboratory technician and medical laboratory technologist, as a physician assistant, hospitalist at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, and an adjunct clinical instructor at Clarkson.

Seymour is certified in advanced cardiac life support and in pediatric advanced life support.

She is also licensed as a clinical laboratory technologist and as a fundamental critical care support provider.

She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Hospitalist Medicine.
