A Canton resident attending the College of St. Rose participated in an alternative spring break program where she is helped New Orleans residents rebuild in the wake of hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
Katherine Christy aided residents of the city's Lower Ninth Ward, one of the most-devastated areas, to rehabilitate and build homes.
Christy and 12 fellow students were in New Orleans from March 2 to 8.
