CANTON -- The VFW Men’s Auxiliary Post 1231 has named Hugh C. Williams High School senior Carly Whiteford the recipient of its 2014 award.
She was chosen for the $150 award based on her high moral character, community involvement, good scholastic attendance, leadership qualities, respect for others, and being considered a well-rounded student, Hugh C. Williams school says in a news release.
She plans to attend Clarkson University in the fall to major in engineering and management.
She is the daughter of Barry Whiteford and Mary Evans of Canton.
