CANTON – First Lt. Joshua G. Tulloch, 25, Canton, platoon commander, 3rd Assault Amphibious Battalion, recently completed the weeklong Marine Corps Combat Readiness Exercise at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA.

During the exercise, Tulloch led a platoon of assault amphibious vehicles as they transported infantrymen with 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiments, from sea to shore during an amphibious landing to secure the beach and capture land-based objectives.

After more than a decade of fighting and training for land combat in Iraq and Afghanistan, infantry battalions within 1st Marine Division have reincorporated amphibious scenarios in their training events as part of the U.S. strategic pivot to the Pacific.
