CANTON — A Canton resident and graduating senior who took part in St. Lawrence University’s Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) has been accepted into medical school for the fall.
Ellis J. (EJ) Curtis, III will attend the University of California at San Diego, Medical Scientist Training Program (MD/PhD) program. Through his work with his mentor, Associate Professor of Chemistry Samantha Glazier, he found research to be a way to contribute to the field of cancer treatment. His professional plan is to obtain the education necessary for him to pursue a career which will allow him to integrate research with the practice of medicine. Curtis was also a Ronald E. McNair Scholar.
