POTSDAM -- Cynthia Swinyer was recently chosen as the Canton-Potsdam Hospital employee of the year.
Swinyer, a unit clerk, was chosen from 12 finalists who received recognition as employees of the quarter throughout the past year, according to a press release.
Colleagues recognized Swinyer for her “attention to detail, and exceptional management of information,” the release said.
“Cindy is a kind, compassionate, and dedicated member of the CPH family and I’m proud to call her a friend,” said Hospitalist Imrė Rainey-Spence.
“Accuracy and communication are imperative to providing comprehensive patient care and Cindy excels in both areas. Her role requires her to serve as the linchpin connecting all facets of care, which she performs seamlessly,” said Jeff Groenhide, director of second floor medical/surgical unit.
“Providers, administrative staff, and her peers have the utmost respect for her 22 years of experience and sound judgement. She liaises among departments and is trained for efficiency and crisis situations. She represents quality healthcare at its best,” said Groenhide.
As employee of the year, Swinyer received Potsdam gift certificates, a plaque, and a floral arrangement.
