The Clarkson University Men's Lacrosse team is pleased to announce the addition of Kasey Burst to the Golden Knights' program for the 2011-12 season.
A 2011 graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University (Emmitsburg, MD), Burst was a three-time Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) All-Academic team member majoring in International Studies with a concentration in political science. Burst played in 27 games during his career with the Division I Mountaineers and was a key member of the team’s man-down defense. Mount Saint Mary’s reached the NCAA Tournament in 2010 after posting a 12-5 record, and the Mountaineers produced 32 victories during Burst’s career with the program.
Burst, a native of North Syracuse, NY who played at Christian Brothers Academy, had an impressive high school career as well, totaling 350 ground balls in his career, helping to lead his team to the 2006 New York State Championship game.
Burst already has a solid coaching resume, having worked as a volunteer assistant coach for the Brine Upstate Lacrosse League youth team as well as working at the Elite 150 Lacrosse Camp. He also has extensive volunteer experience, having worked with Special Olympics of Maryland for five years, the Francis House in Syracuse, NY and the Lasallian Youth Ministry.
