Bellona appointed assitant professor of civil, environmental engineering at Clarkson

POTSDAM – Christopher Bellona has been appointed assistant professor of civil and environmental engineering at Clarkson University.

Bellona received his bachelor of science degree in environmental sciences from Western Washington University, and his master of science and Ph.D. in environmental science and engineering from the Colorado School of Mines

Before coming to Clarkson, Bellona was a post-doctoral research associate in the Division of Environmental Science and Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines and an engineer with Carollo Engineers in Broomfield, Colo.

His research interests include developing membrane separation systems for drinking water reuse, quantifying organic compound removal through membrane systems and developing methods to reduce membrane fouling.

Bellona has coauthored 11 refereed journal articles and has three more articles under preparation. He has also presented at 30 conferences.

He is a member of the American Water Works Association, the International Water Association, and the Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association. He also holds a Level D water treatment plant operator license.
