The annual benefit trail ride at John Sweeneys farm in Buckton (Winthrop) took place recently on a perfect fall day. The participants raised $1,934 to benefit ill children and their families. The ride was along the St. Regis River and through fields and woods in the Buckton area. After the ride a tasty barbecue was enjoyed by neighbors and riders sponsored by the Sweeney and Mullen families. The top money raisers were John & Mindy Mullen and Jackie Cayea-House, who does it in memory of her son, Shawn Cayea. Several businesses and individuals donated prizes for the raffles. The riders in the photo are from left, Tim Helfter of Hopkinton, Bill Clossin of Parishville Center on his mule "Honkey", Doris King and friend of Hogansburg.
