A Summer Youth Rock Climbing Program will be held at the Leadership and Challenge Center in Maxcy Hall on the SUNY Potsdam campus in three-week sessions beginning on Wednesday, June 16. The program is designed to teach the importance of communication, trust and patience through climbing. Focus will be placed on building skills and community in a fun and supportive environment. Children who are already experienced climbers will have the opportunity to experience more difficult and strenuous climbing sections according to their abilities. Children aged 8 to 12 will learn about climbing technique. Session 1 will be June 16 to June 30, Wednesdays from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., session 2 will be July 19 - August 3, Mondays from 3 - 5 p.m. Two sessions will also be offered for kids 13 - 17 where they will learn climbing technique, etc. Session 1 will be June 17 - July 1, Thursdays from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m., session 2 will be July 20 to August 3, Tuesdays from 3 - 5 p.m. To register for a session, contact Kate Gesel at [email protected] or (716) 361-7273 or Mike Collyer at [email protected].
