More than $14,000 was raised for the Potsdam Holiday Fund and other worthy causes Saturday as a record 632 people participated in the 13th annual Hobble Gobble Run/Walk in West Potsdam. As participants arrived, they were greeted by a Pilgrim and turkey, also known as Sean Lynch and Grace Cunningham from SeaComm Federal Credit Union. While most people were from northern New York and southern Ontario, runners came from as far away as Ireland and Taiwan, said race organizer Derry Loucks. Participants predicted the time it would take to complete either a 3.89-mile or 6.5-mile course. The six closest predictors in each race won a turkey. More than $2,000 in other prizes were also awarded during a ceremony following the event inside the West Potsdam Fire Hall. NorthCountryNow.com photo by John Basham.
