In the spirit of fun and frolic, the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary, Ogdensburg, is once again offering an additional fundraising feature to its Dec. 4, 2010 Festival of the Trees. During the month of November, do not be surprised to find familiar lawns (possibly your own) sporting a flock of fuchsia flamingoes. This year, a second batch of flamingoes have hatched, therefore there are more spots available than last year. A committee of volunteers will help these friendly flocks “fly” throughout the city from one location to the next on a daily basis. Consider becoming part of the fun. A donation of $20 payable to the CHMC Auxiliary will enable the flamingoes to grace your lawn or that of a friend. A donation of $25 will ensure that your lawn will remain “flock-free”. To become a “flocker” or to prevent yourself from being “flocked”, contact Patty Bell, Flamingo Committee Chair, at 393-9867.
