The A. Barton Hepburn Hospital School of Nursing celebrated the Class of 1968's 50th reunion on Wednesday, Sept. 24. They were the final graduating class before the school’s closure. Initially opened in 1902 as the Ogdensburg City Hospital School of Nursing, the school 'became known for the quality of the training received under the tutelage of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart of Ottawa,' said a press release from the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Foundation. More than 1,000 nurses passed through the halls of the ABHH School of Nursing during its operation, said the press release. Former students 'worked in hospitals and cared for generations of patients not only in the North Country, but across the United States,' the press release said.
