Norwood-Norfolk students have been eagerly collecting pull tabs from aluminum cans to donate to the Shriners Hospital. The collecting of aluminum has been a part of the school’s recycling effort as well as a fundraiser for the Shriners for many years. Free orthopedic and burn care is provided to children under 18 at the many Shriners Hospitals located throughout North America. Pictured here are first graders Destiny Marcellus and Jordan Gay emptying their pull tabs into a recycling bin. Students at the school have already collected over 240 pounds of aluminum since September. Last year over 850 pounds were brought in. Coordinator Jill Adams said this year’s goal is 900 pounds.
