Julie Bixby, who lives in Star Lake with her husband, Bernie, caught this “first of the season” 18-inch trout in Northern Adirondack Lake. Trout season begins April 1 in most of the North Country, but catch-and-release trout fishing is allowed year-round some areas of the Adirondacks.
