Bethany Gilbert, 15 years old, shot her first buck during Junior Hunting Weekend.

The buck, an 8 point, weighed 178 pounds and was shot on Saturday, Oct. 6 in Potsdam.

She was hunting with her father, Kevin Gilbert; grandfather, Gene Mitchell; and brother, Jordan Gilbert at the time.
