OGDENSBURG -- The city’s Building and Code Office will host an informational open house on the Zombie Property Grant program at the Dobisky Visitor Center, 100 Riverside Ave., Thursday, Nov. 2, from 6:30-8 p.m.

Information will also be provided on the 2016 state Abandoned Property Neighborhood Relief legislation.

In February 2017 the City was a recipient of a $150,000 grant award to combat vacant and abandoned properties through the state attorney general’s office.

Residents will be able to drop in and speak with city code enforcement staff, including the city’s zombie property inspector, Nicole Woods.

Staff will be available to discuss resident concerns regarding vacant and abandoned properties, and provide information on programs and resources available to prevent untimely foreclosure.

The open house will debut the current inventory of vacant and abandoned properties as collected by the inspector, and comments and suggestions for additional properties are welcome.

Those unable to attend can discuss concerns or get more information by contacting Woods at 315-393-1935, or via email nwoods@ogdensburg.org.
