PARISHVILLE -- Amanda's Butterfly Wishes Memorial Fund hosts its 2017 Youth Fishing Tournament Saturday, July 22 from the Parishville Fire Hall, 25 Rutman Rd.
The open boundary tournament allows young people to fish for any type of fish anywhere in St. Lawrence County after registration at 6 a.m.
Weigh-in is anytime before 3:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at 4 p.m.
The five heaviest fish win a prize.
Pre-registration is $10 by July 15 and $15 after that. The first 30 kids signed up will get a free fishing gift bag.
All kids signed up will eat for free at the pig roast at the fire hall. Adult meal tickets are $8, and for other kids under 8 are $4.
At the hall there will be raffles and a 50/50, with a one in 30 chance of winning a gold ticket prize.
All proceeds from event go to Amanda's Butterfly Wishes Memorial Fund, created to help a graduating senior from Parishville-Hopkinton Central School, in memory of Amanda Lynn Lashomb, a 2011 graduate of PHCS who passed away suddenly in May 2012 from complications of ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.
