Yoga classes slated in Canton

CANTON -- The Yoga Loft, 17 Main St., will host “Valentine’s Week Specials.” From Feb. 12-17 all current Yoga Loft patrons can bring a guest to any class for free.

The guest must be new to the Yoga Loft, the host patron must take the class along with the guest, the host person must use their class card or pay for themselves as usual, there is a max five guests per class. -

“Prenatal Yoga Wellness Workshop” with Sarah Oakley of MamaBirthYoga, will be held on Sunday, Feb. 5, from 2 4 p.m. The cost is $30 or two blocks on a class card.

Connecting breath and movement, Oakley will guide participants through an open-level prenatal yoga practice to ease common discomforts of pregnancy. Register by Feb. 2 by emailing mamabirthyoga@gmail.com. Weekly prenatal yoga classes begin Wednesday March 1, from 5 to 6:15 p.m.

“Yoga Tune-Up Clinic with Cintia” will be offered Saturday Feb. 11, from 10:30 a.m. until noon. The cost is $15 for drop-in or a use the class card. The workout focuses on hips and balance and will help participants strengthen foundational muscles while opening up points of tension for greater flexibility. “Yoga and Social Justice” with Sarah Harris will be held on Fridays from 4 until 5 p.m., Feb. 10 through March 17. For information contact sharris31@gmail.com. Use the class card or $15 drop-in.

"Wellness at Your Fingertips: EFT Tapping" with Emma Brackett is set for Thursdays from 7 until 8 p.m. on Feb 23, Mar 2, and Mar 9. Info: emma.brackett@yahoo.com or 315-854-2045. The cost for three weeks is $30, or $15 drop-in. Participants will practice Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) is a holistic mind/body self-help method that can be used to uncover and heal distressing thoughts, feelings, and events. It involves a process of combination of mindful affirmations and tapping (gently, with fingertips) on several acupuncture meridian end-points on the face and upper body. "
