POTSDAM -- Trillium Center for Yoga and Health, 25 Market St., will offer a yoga class designed for new mothers and their babies and another for pregnant women.
Baby and Me, the new mothers’ class is, on Tuesday mornings, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 1 through Dec. 22, for caregivers and their infants up to age 2 years. The focus will be bonding with baby, while practicing gentle hatha yoga with stretching, strengthening and releasing stress, and breath work, poses, and meditation. The fee is $48 for the full session, $15 drop-in per class. Students are requested to check with their healthcare provider before doing any postpartum exercise. Trillium Center for Yoga and Health will offer a Pregnancy Yoga for three Saturdays 1 to 2:30 p.m. starting Dec. 5. Students will learn to be more comfortable in their changing bodies as they prepare for a more confident and present childbirth experience. The cost for three sessions is $36 or $15 per class to drop in. The class is taught by Terry de la Vega, certified Kripalu yoga instructor and certified “YogaNurse.” De la Vega has many years of experience as a nurse practitioner in women’s health and as a yoga teacher.
