POTSDAM -- An eight-week yoga class for pregnant women will begin Thursday, Jan. 9 at First Presbyterian Church.
Pregnancy yoga will help students learn to be more comfortable in their changing bodies and prepare for a confident childbirth.
Yoga during pregnancy relieves aches and pains, builds strength and endurance, releases anxiety and worry, and builds confidence.
Each class will include yoga stretches and postures adapted to the needs of pregnant women, breath work, toning, relaxation, visualization, and meditation.
Pregnancy yoga will meet Thursdays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the head start room through Feb. 27. The cost is $80, or $15 per class.
Pregnancy Yoga is taught by Terry de la Vega, certified Kripalu Yoga Instructor and certified YogaNurse.
