POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Public Library, 2 Park St., is hosting several winter programs.
Minecraft Free Play, for kids in 3rd through 7th grade, will be held on Mondays from 3-4:45 p.m. Children are invited to play Minecraft together or in a solo world. Coding and chemistry environments are available, in addition to standard survival and creative worlds. Registration is required at potsdamlibrary.org/minecraft-free-play.
The Curious Cubs Storytime is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. featuring stories, rhymes and movement activities to build early literacy skills for ages 2 and older. Younger siblings are welcome.
Little Bees Storytime, geared towards toddlers, is held on Saturdays at 10 a.m.
The After Work Book Club meets the fourth Tuesday of the month (Oct. 23 this month) from 6:30-8 p.m. The next book is "Americanah" by Chimananda Ngozi Adiche.
The Noon Book Club meets the second Wednesday of the month (Wednesday, Nov. 14) from noon- 2 p.m. in the village community room. The club will next discuss "Killers of the Flower Moon" by David Grann.
The Drop-In Chess Club meets every Wednesday, from 5-8 p.m.
Game Night, a board game event for all ages, is held on Thursdays from 5-8 p.m.
The ESL Class with Maria Morrison meets in the Village of Potsdam Community Room every Monday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The class focuses on conversation, pronunciation, American culture and other topics. Info: mmorrison@potsdamlibrary.org.
Improving Skills for New English Speakers meets Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the Community Room. New English speakers use online sources to improve listening skills and fluency. Registration is required: bgordon@potsdamlibrary.org, 315-265-7230.
The ESL Conversation Group with Bobby Gordon convenes every Thursday from 9-10:30 a.m.
Tutoring is available at the library to learn English or for literacy skills as well.
