Workshop for veteran entrepreneurs to be held in Ogdensburg

OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a special workshop for veteran entrepreneurs who would like more information on becoming NYS certified as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business (SDVOB).

This free workshop will be held Thursday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Dobisky Visitor’s Center.

Ken Williams, executive director of the Division of Service-Disabled Veterans’ Business Development will discuss the details of the NYS SDVOB program, including certification requirements, contract opportunities, FAQs, and the benefits of certification.

NYS opened a new division of the Office of General Services several years ago for the purpose of certifying veteran owned businesses.

Being certified with NYS will open up new opportunities for veterans to do business with NYS agencies and help expand their businesses.

For more information on the program, visit www.ogs.ny.gov/veterans.

To register for the free workshop, call Laura Pearson at the chamber office at 315-393-3620 or email at chamber@gisco.net.
