POTSDAM -- "Woodcarving: Barn Owl" will be offered Saturday, Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council, 41 Elm St.
The cost is $61 for members and $76 for non-members and includes materials.
The class will be taught by Jack Taylor.
Students will carve a four-inch tall butternut barn owl.
Taylor will teach the four basic carving cuts and give advice on where to purchase knives and carving supplies.
Wood burners and glass eyes will be available to accent the carvings, and everyone will go home with an owl that has a bit of the carver's personality.
