CANTON -- A discussion of winter dairy programs led by university and dairy specialists takes place at Cooperative Extension offices on Rt. 68 in Canton 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 13.
Experts from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Vermont Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences will speak, Dr. Katie Proudfoot on Dairy Handling and Cow Comfort, Dr. Julie M. Smith on Animal Welfare in the Milking Parlor, and Dr. Kimberley Morrill on Calf Comfort and Cold Weather Considerations.
On Jan. 20, speakers with the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council and the Upstate Niagara Cooperative will talk about delivering a positive message through social and traditional media and about the National Dairy F.A.R.M. Program in a shared broadcast program from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in at CCE in Canton and elsewhere around the state.
