CANTON — The Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 1/2 East Main St., will celebrate Winter Solstice Thursday, Dec. 21, at 5:30 p.m. with a service entitled “Winter Solstice: One More Trip Around the Sun.”
This will be a multigenerational service with a focus on the Earth. It will be followed by a simple meal of soup and bread. Christmas Eve will be celebrated with the service “What Child is This?” Sunday, Dec. 24, at 10:30 a.m.
Childcare will be available during this service.
A second Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. called the “The Tao of Christmas: Christmas Eve Candlelight Service,” which will examine whether Taoism is compatible and can interact with Christmas. Candles and songs will complement the words of the service.
Offerings received during Christmas Eve services will go to the Church and Community Program. Services are open and welcoming to all. Info: www.uucantonny.org.
