NORWOOD – The Norwood Library will celebrate its annual Christmas party at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 14, at which time they will announce the winners of two contests and a raffle.
Adults are invited to participate in the Create a Christmas Card contest. Make a card in any medium you choose, including cross-stitch, needlepoint, painting, pen and ink, drawing and scrapbooking. Entries must be submitted by Monday, Dec. 12 at 9 p.m. and the winner will be announced at the party.
The Friends of the Library are sponsoring a logo contest for several age groups. Artists are asked to create a logo for the library that represents what it means to you. The final logo must be submitted on a special form you can pick up at the library or from Norwood-Norfolk Central School art teachers. Use pencil, ink, colored pencils, markers or crayons. Age groups are 5-7 years, 8-10 years, 11-13 years, 14-17 years and 18-plus. Prizes will be awarded in each group. There will be one grand prize winner whose logo will appear on all Friends of the Norwood Library materials. Logos must be submitted to the library by Dec. 12. Results will be announced at the party.
The Friends are also sponsoring a raffle to benefit the library. Items include a watercolor by Mike diVincenzo, a large afghan made by Bobbie Lyons, gift certificates from Laurie’s Casual Cuts, Ashley House and Heart and Hearth, $50 in cash, a bird house by Bob Hand, a medium afghan donated by Donna Raab and a brownie pan. All items are on display at the library. Chances are $1 each and winners will be picked at the party.
Also at the party, children will be treated to stories around the Christmas tree. There will also be adult trivia and refreshments and holiday music.
