POTSDAM — Wheel thrown pottery classes for students 14 years old to adult, with instructor Isaac Snell, will be offered Sept. 11, 12 and 13, from 2-5 p.m. and again from 6-9 p.m. at the SLC Arts center in old Snell Hall off Elm Street.
The class will cost members $126 and non-members $148.
Snell will guide students through all the basic skills needed for wheel throwing including clay preparation, proper wedging techniques, centering clay on the wheel, throwing outer and inner walls of a vessel, and trimming and glazing.
Each student will bring home at least six finished pieces.
Visit facebook.com/IsaacJudePottery for examples of Snell’s work. Students should be beginners or intermediate students with fewer than 20 hours of experience.
