Utility rights training

POTSDAM: Community Conversation on Poverty group hosting Utility Rights Training by Richard Berkley, executive director of the Public Utility Law Project of New York; 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Potsdam Town Hall; Utility Rights Training educates utility consumers about their legal rights and provides information on how PULP can assist low-income customers with electric, natural gas, telephone, and other utility-related issues; Emily Hastings, 315-386-3712, ehastings@ncls.org.

AARP driver-safety

MASSENA: Massena Senior Citizens offering AARP driver-safety program, Massena Community Center, 61 Beach St.; suitable for all drivers regardless of age; participants who complete course receive three-year insurance discount, eligible to reduce up to four points on state driver’s license; 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.; pre-registration required: 315-769-7810 by Sept. 20; must attend both sessions; $20 for AARP members, $25 for non-members; pay by check or exact cash at the first class session; bring driver’s license and a current AARP card (if a member).
