Remington Haunting
OGDENSBURG: Frederic Remington Art Museum hosting Remington Haunting: A Family Event, 6-8 p.m.; “heart-stopping” ghost tour through the museum and a scaredy cat walk; "I nearly survived the Remington Haunting" shirts will be available in the Museum Shop (before and after the event) and that evening for $10 while supplies last; $5 admission; 315-393-2425.
Ribbon cutting
POTSDAM: Grand opening, ribbon cutting, Big Lots store, 200 Market St., 8:30 a.m.; first 50 shoppers entering the store on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27 will receive a reusable shopping bag filled with tasty treats from Big Lot; kick off of donation program to benefit St. Lawrence Valley Renewal House.
Nightmare on Main St.

Fright Fest 2018

Norfolk Halloween Festival
NORFOLK: Annual Norfolk Halloween Festival, from Oct. 25-28 with costume races, trick or treats, carnival games and other Halloween fun; 6 p.m. Halloween hunt in Norfolk park; kids will hunt for bags of Halloween candy; 9 p.m. Adult Halloween party at Coach tavern, costume judging at 12 a.m. Sudden Impact will play from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

Trunk or Treat
CANTON: SUNY Canton Early Childhood program will host a Halloween “Trunk or Treat” event, 6-8 p.m., in the campus’ French Hall parking lot; families of children aged 2-10 are welcome, and parking is available in Lot 6; more than 25 “trunks” will be giving out treats and other fun prizes; rain location will be in the Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center’s field house.
Go Gray for Lon
CANTON: Go Gray for Lon Fundraiser 3-7 p.m. at the VFW in Canton on Gouverneur Street; held to support Lon Rosenbarker who suffered a stroke in May of this year, ultimately leading to the diagnosis of stage 4 brain cancer; former long time resident of Canton and worked at St. Lawrence University for 30 years; owned and operated Rosenbarker Construction; currently, he is undergoing treatment; silent auction, 50/50 raffle, cash bar, door prizes and finger foods.
