Potsdam Summer Festival

POTSDAM: Potsdam Summer Festival, three days July 12-14, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Rescue Squad Garage Sale at the RS Building; 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Book sale, Civic Center Basement; 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Kids Inflatables, Potsdam Elks, 10 Elm St.; 10 a.m.-8 p.m., Sports for Cancer Dunking Booth, Between the Buns, Elm Street; 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Gina’s Scholastic Book Fair, former Northern Music, Market Street; 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Outer Market Mania, Touch A Truck, Big Lots Plaza; noon-1:30 p.m., Cubby T. Clown and Friends, Big Lots Plaza; 9:30 p.m., fireworks viewed in Ives Park, rain date: Saturday; 6-7:30 p.m., Potsdam Community Band, Ives Park gazebo.

Senior picnic

GOUVERNEUR: Annual Senior Picnic, sponsored by St. Lawrence County Council of Senior Citizens, St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging; Gouverneur Community Center, 4673 State Highway 58, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; free bingo at 10 a.m., 50/50 raffles, door prizes, information booths, Farmers Market Coupon distribution; pulled pork barbecue lunch at noon; suggested donation of $3 for 60 and older; $7 for under 60; music by Marty Robinson, 1:30-3 p.m. 315-347-2572, 315-386-4730.

30-year celebration

DEPEYSTER: Depeyster’s 30-year celebration, July 13 and 14, from Friday 5-8 p.m. and all day on Saturday; old fashioned games, baby contest, frog jumping contest, live band, DJs, parade on Saturday at noon, food concessions both days.

Food pantry open

HOPKINTON: Hopkinton Food Pantry open, 10-11:30 a.m., Town Hall; clients are asked to bring their own containers for food and clothing; the Summer Food Program for July and August for school-aged children is underway, breakfast and lunch snacks in addition to the regular food items; 315-328-4168, 315-328-4681.
