2019 LoKo Arts Festival
POTSDAM: SUNY Potsdam's eighth annual LoKo Arts Festival will once again provide an immersive arts experience for the Potsdam community; 17 artists from around the country & Denmark will infuse the campus and community with energy from Friday, April 26 to Sunday, May 5; festival features traditional and contemporary musical and theatrical performances, workshops and gallery exhibitions; most events are free, all are open to the public, and parking permits are not required during the festival; LoKo downtown, live music on Market Street, dance performances, 3D sidewalk chalk art, interactive art displays and performances at local businesses, street vendors, noon-5 p.m.; performance of SOUL, jazz, R&B, gospel, 6 p.m., multi-purpose room; Broadway Musicals of the 2000s, 7:30 p.m., Dunn Theater; performance of “Slanguage” at 7:30 p.m., Black Box Theater; performance of “Shattering the Silence,” 9:30 p.m., Black Box Theater.
Free restring event
POTSDAM: Free restring and old string recycling at Brick and Mortar Music, 15 Market St., 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; sponsored by D’Addario and TerraCycle, musicians can bring any old instrument strings for recycling and get their electric or acoustic guitars restrung with D’Addario NYXL or Nickel Bronze Acoustic strings; old strings collected during the event will be recycled through Playback, D’Addario’s free, national recycling program; www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades/daddario-playback; 315-274-9311.

World Tai Chi
