MADRID: 28th Annual Old Fashioned Harvest Days, St. Lawrence Power & Equipment Museum, 1755 State Highway 345; antique cars, trucks and tractors will be on display, there will be a flea market, kids pedal tractor pull and races, horse and tractor pulls, draft pony log skidding, chicken barbecue and tours of the maple sugar house, the 1850 one-room schoolhouse, 1850 log cabin reconstruction, Civil War encampment, shoe repair shop, 1920s gas station and other buildings onsite, more; 7:30-8 p.m. Church in the tractor building; 8 p.m. Presidents comments, pavilion building; 10-11 a.m. Sawmill and shingle mill operating; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Antique auto and truck exhibit; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Antique tractor pulls; 11 a.m.-noon Corn binding, chopping, oat threshing; Noon Chicken barbecue; 12:30 p.m. Horse and tractor parade; 1-2 p.m. Sawmill and shingle mill operating; 1-2 p.m. Corn binding, chopping or oat threshing; 1-2:30 p.m. Kids pedal tractor pull; 2 p.m. Raffle, silent auction, 50/50 winners announced; $5 for 12 years old and older, and $3 after 3 p.m. on Saturday; children younger than 12 are admitted free; 315-344-7470, info@slpowermuseum.com.
Labor Day Celebration
HEUVELTON: Labor Day Celebration, three-day celebration; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. courtesy shuttle will run from Heuvelton Central School to and from the parade lineup field on State Highway 812, with stops at the Lisbon Street events area; 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Seaway Valley Jumpers Bouncy House, Obstacle Course, and Tropical water slides, held at the Lisbon Street events area; 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Travice Mourick, on the corner of Lisbon St and State St.; 1 p.m. parade theme “60’s 70’ Groovy Heuvy;” 2 p.m. until gone chicken barbecue held at AMVETS Post 1997, 107 State St. $9.50 adults, $5 children, delivery available 315-344-2364; after the parade Ice Cream Social and games Lisbon Street events area, sponsored by area churches to benefit United Methodist Back Pack Program; Northern Blend Chorus on the corner of Lisbon and State streets; American Lawn mower races at the boat launch area, cost $5, sponsored by HVFD; 4 p.m. Todd Mashaw Karaoke and 60’s 70s costume party held at Doug’s Tavern, State Street.
