Figure drawing class

OGDENSBURG: Frederic Remington Art Museum continues its series of art classes with a figure drawing class, 10 a.m.-noon, with local artist Julie Pratt; class is appropriate for teens and adults; participants will draw a live clothed model using pencil, conté, and charcoal; class will explore anatomy, how the body moves and supports itself, and how to translate that into your artwork. Participants will learn about proportion, perspective, and many other challenges that present themselves when working with the human figure; will be taught at the Eva Caten Remington Education Center, 323 Washington St.; all skill levels are welcome, and materials will be provided, though artists are welcome to bring their own materials if they prefer; $15 for museum members, $25 for non-members; class is limited to 12 participants; 315-393-2425 or email desmond@fredericremington.org to ask questions or sign up, or visit fredericremington.org to register online.

Smartphone, tablet class

CANTON: Cyber Seniors class on smartphones and tablets, 2:30-4 p.m., St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES, 40 W. Main St.; offered by county Office for the Aging, taught by St. Lawrence University students; classes are free to those 60 and older with little or no knowledge, as well as those who want to gain more knowledge of tablets, smartphones and computers; classes are offered in I & II part sessions, so registration will be for 2 classes to be sure topics are covered fully; must bring your own tablet or smartphone.

POTSDAM: Hiring the Right Leaders Workshop – learn how to master Skills-Based Interviewing, 5-7 p.m., Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley; open to all; participants will identify the key competencies and skills needed for key positions within the organization and will learn to create and conduct interviews that are fair, defensible and that results in the best hiring outcomes; St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce collaborating with chamber member, Tedra L.
