COLTON: Annual Colton Winterfest begins, “Rockin’ in the Great South Woods; silent auctions, quilt show, remembrance trees, open skating; https://www.townofcolton.com/winterfest.html ; 7-11 a.m. pancake breakfast at Masonic Lodge, 85 Main St.; 8 a.m.-4 p.m. NYS Snowmobile Safety Course at CPCS, free, 7:30-8 a.m. registration, adults and youth welcome, free lunch; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. free clothing giveaway at CPCS auditorium lobby; 9 a.m. 10-mile foot race, starts and ends at school, registration at 7 a.m. at school cafeteria, roads well-marked and marshaled, trophies, 8 age groups, prizes, pre-registration, info: 315-379-9290; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. free health fair craft and vendor fair, kids corner at CPCS; 9 a.m.-3 p.m. white elephant sale plus bake and soup sale at Colton Methodist Church, 11 Church St.; 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m., Chilifest at CPCS gym lobby, $4 for bowl of homemade chili and roll; $2 for chili dog; $1 for drinks; 1-3 p.m. Blow Off Some STEAM! at CPCS, students and children invited to enjoy some creative time with Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-and Math activities, free; 1-4 p.m. free wine tasting at Higley Hooch, 3924 State Highway 56; 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m. tap takeover featuring local and NYS breweries and live music by Alternate Motives at Raquette River Pub, 102 Main St., must be 21 years of age and older.

Winterfest in Hammond

HAMMOND: Winterfest, presented by Hammond Central School Parent Teacher Organization and KARE, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at the school; broomball tournament begins at noon, contact Sam Bush at sbush@hammondk12.org to sign up; mac and cheese and chili contest, $5 per entry, $2 tasting per event; arts, crafts, face painting, inflatable jousting ring, bounce house, concession stand, music and other activities; open to the public, free admission; jengardner1@gmail.com.
