WhiteOut Weekend

CLIFTON: Communities of Fine, Oswegatchie, Star Lake, Wanakena and Cranberry Lake and the town of Clifton hosting annual Adirondack WhiteOut Weekend Festival from Feb. 15-17; music, food, snowshoeing, bonfires, a snow labyrinth, Bigfoot pancakes, puppet theater, magic show and contra dance, along with many other scheduled family activities; 3-10 p.m. event kickoff in Wanakena with luminaries across the historic Wanakena Footbridge, Wanakena Historical Association photography exhibit opening, bonfire, hot drinks, snow croquet and snow labyrinth, Night Skywatching Raffle, luminaries on sale at Otto’s Abode, SUNY ESF Ranger School and Cranberry Lake Artist group sponsoring an ice luminary woods walk with solar lanterns (sponsored by MPOWERD) and magical lighting through a short path, mini barn quilts displayed along the path; 7 p.m. Amber in Green playing at Otto's Abode; 8 p.m. Jamie Savage and Rick Kovacs playing acoustic songs and tunes at the Pine Cone Grill; 6-8 p.m. Glow Skate at Clifton-Fine Arena, Star Lake (BYO skates), free glow bracelets, sponsored by Deborah A. Body, FNP; all day access to local snowmobile, x-country ski and snowshoe trails: check trail conditions and closures and utilize safe winter practices, borrow snowshoes from Clifton Community Library with your library card.
