Luminary Vigil

CANTON: Luminary Vigil, 6 p.m., hosted by SUNY Canton Alumni Association at Canton Village Park; remembrance luminarias will be lighted throughout the park, each written with the name of someone who has passed away; to submit a name, contact Jordan Walker, atwalkerj@canton.edu; donations accepted for the SUNY Canton Veterans Application Fee Fund and food donations will be accepted that evening for the SUNY Canton food pantry.

Resource Project presentation

CANTON: North Country Resource Project presentation, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Room 10 of Piskor Hall (across from Brewer Bookstore), St. Lawrence University; Stephen Barnard from SLU Sociology Department, along with students from his class "Criminal (In)Justice," will present their work on the North Country Resource Project -- website designed to make local resources such as housing, legal help, education and transportation more easily available to at-risk members of the community (northcountryresource.org); presentation followed by questions and discussion; everyone welcome.
