CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s monthly webinar “Certification for my Woman Owned Business, Is it for Me?” will be presented by Steve Barr, US Small Business Administration’s business opportunity specialist, Wednesday, March 1, at noon.
The certification process for woman owned businesses to benefit from state and federal contracts can be daunting. Additionally, the benefits to each business may vary, making the process a priority for some businesses and not for others.
Barr will explain eligibility, process, and benefits of the state and federal woman-owned certifications, and provide advice on how to best promote your certification and maintain it to continue benefiting from contracts.
The webinar is free, thanks to sponsorship from St. Lawrence University. A computer, high speed internet and speakers are required. To register, visit www.SLCchamber.org or facebook.com/SLCchamberNY. A library of past webinar recordings can be found on the website.
The webinars, hosted by the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce are held online every first Wednesday of the month beginning at noon, include question and answer and are finished by 1 p.m.
“The idea is to provide a very specific lesson during the lunch hour, to your desktop” says Brooke Rouse, SLC chamber director.
The chamber is partnering with Laura Perry and Clarkson University to host the webinar on their platform.
