POTSDAM -- Aired on WCKN-TV on Monday, Nov. 10 and Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m., Peak Moment TV host Janaia Donaldson takes a look at stress and the toll it takes on us with her guest, Nora Gedgaudas.

Gedgaudas is the author of a new e-book, Rethinking Fatigue —What Your Adrenals are Really Telling You and What You Can Do About It.

Gedgaudas says, “What people really think of as adrenal fatigue or burnout rarely has anything to do with the adrenals themselves.” She dispels myths, and illuminates various forms of brain dysregulation that can affect our response to stress, as well as our energy levels. She also discusses the importance of a daily sleep-and-activity rhythm based on natural light and dark, a low-carbohydrate diet and supportive supplements.

Now in its sixth year, the Peak Moment TV programs air every week at 7 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday on WCKN, Time Warner Digital 30. Peak Moment explores locally reliant living for challenging times. The programs are underwritten locally by The Center for Excellence in Communication at Clarkson University and the Seymour Family of Potsdam.

Peak Moment TV returns in November with more all-new shows. On Nov. 17-18, watch What Is Sustainable? and the month concludes with First Nations People Reclaiming Their Heritage on Nov. 24-25.

In the weeks and months to come, WCKN will continue to air PEAK Moment TV. The topics covered will include local food production, renewable energy, transportation alternatives, sustainable building, preparedness and psychological, business, and governmental responses. All the programs are available on the internet at www.wordpress.peakmoment.tv/conversations/ in both video and audio format.

In addition, more than 80 Peak Moment TV shows are now available on DVDs which can be borrowed from the Potsdam Public Library from the collection of shows purchased for broadcast locally.
