POTSDAM -- All recent veterans, active duty, and family members are welcome to the next meeting of Warrior Writers from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18 in SUNY Potsdam’s Morey Hall 117.
These occasional meetings bring together recent veterans and current service members to be in creative community and utilize art-making to express themselves.
“We basically just talk, and write, and read stuff out loud to each other and discuss,” said Potsdam organizer Karen Springsteen.
“We use writing prompts sometimes to get started and read pieces by other vets.”
“We're hoping to put together a small book of writing,” Springsteen said, but vets should not let any feeling of obligation keep them from attending.
Last year, the group had a reading at the SUNY Potsdam campus festival.
