PARISHVILLE -- The second annual Warrior Challenge Run will take place Saturday Oct. 8, at 9 a.m. at the Clarkson Seven Springs in Parishville.

Event organizers say the event embodies the spirit of teamwork and the motto, “no man or woman left behind” rather than an individual timed run. Those participating take on 5K of wooded terrain and 10 to 12 challenging obstacles to overcome in a safe environment.

Runners ages 14 and up are allowed to enter the run. Parents or guardians must sign waivers for underage runners. The event is rain or shine.

Following the run there will be an on-site post party. There will be music and food will be available for purchase with the party continuing until 4 p.m. Participants in the run receive a free beverage ticket. All guests must be registered to participate in the post-party.

Proceeds go directly to helping those local Wounded Warriors and Battle Buddies to go on fully-paid outdoor adventure trips across the United States and Canada, such as hunting, fishing, camping and boating with their families and volunteer guides from WWOA. The Wounded Warriors Outdoor Adventures organization is a local non-profit 501(c)(3).
