OGDENSBURG -- Fort de la Presentation will host the War of 1812 Heritage Talks April 26 and 27 at the Freight House Restaurant, 20 Market St.
The talks will begin both days at 7:30 a.m. with registration, followed by a continental breakfast and opening remarks.
Topics will include “Chauncey’s Impact on Western Operations” by Sandy Antal, Ohio and the War of 1812 with James T. Brenner and the Battle of Stoney Creek with James Elliott.
Other topics will include the war and the rise of the U.S. Navy by David Taylor, privateers with Faye Kert, women in the war with Susan Spencer, religion and the war with Ray Hobbs, John Norton and the Grand River Iroquois with Carl Benn.
Buffet lunches will also be served both days.
The cost will be $10 for a Friday meet and greet.
Registration will be $70 for members, $60 for students and town historians and $80 for non-members.
